Eyelid Surgery (Blepharoplasty)

Eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) is used to remove loose or excess skin around the eyes, and to reduce bags above or below the eyes. This surgery will make your eyes look younger and fresher. As the surgery itself will not remove fine lines around your eyes, your surgeon may recommend additional treatments such as laser resurfacing during surgery, or wrinkle reduction injections, to achieve the optimum result.

If you are considering upper lid surgery, your surgeon will carefully assess the position of your eyebrow, as brow descent or droopiness may be part of the problem. If the lower lid is the issue, your tear trough (the line between your lid and cheek) and your cheek must be carefully considered. Sometimes, more than the lid itself must be addressed. Your surgeon may show you before and after pictures, and work with you to develop an operative plan to achieve the best possible outcome.

Browlift

Drooping eyebrows with a wrinkled brow and forehead are very common sources of concern, as they can cause you to look angry or sad when you are not. In these cases, a browlift can be extremely beneficial, allowing your face to more accurately reflect your emotions.

Many factors contribute to the appearance of the eyebrows and forehead, particularly ageing, inherited features, and sun exposure. Early ageing or minor drooping can best be treated by non surgical means, such as anti-wrinkle injections, chemical peels or laser. However, as changes progress, they may be better managed with a surgical procedure.

A browlift can be done alone or in conjunction with other facial surgery procedures such as facelift or eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty). A browlift can be performed by endoscopy, which involves several short incisions within the hairline, or by open lifting, which leaves a small scar but sometimes provides a better result. Your surgeon will discuss with you at length the best procedure for you.

Facial Rejuvenation (Facelift)

Everyone ages differently and at different rates. Some people more or less maintain their looks as they age, but for others, the way the ageing process changes them can become a source of distress.

Whilst your genes are probably the most important elements affecting how your face will age, some environmental factors contribute to the ageing process. Sun damage, smoking and chronic over-expression (such as squinting in outdoor workers) are also associated with wrinkling of the skin, deterioration of skin tone and discoloration.

Facial rejuvenation surgery refers to the group of procedures used to restore, as far as possible, the youthful and natural appearance of the face and neck. These include face and neck lifting procedures designed to restore the shape of the face and improve sagging or deepening of the folds around the mouth, and volume correction procedures, to improve specific areas of atrophy, flattening, or loss of volume.

The key to facial rejuvenation surgery is a careful and expert evaluation, a well designed and performed procedure, and the degree of ageing present. Your surgeon will conduct a thorough assessment of your needs and preferences, and develop a surgical plan to achieve the optimum results for you.
