Meagan Heywood has been nursing for over a decade, and is eminently qualified for her role as Practice Nurse at ARC Plastic Surgery, Hawthorn East. A Specialist Division 1 Nurse, Meagan has more than seven years experience in surgery, recovery and anaesthetics, including three in plastic surgery.

Meagan completed her Bachelor of Nursing at the Australian Catholic University, as well as undertaking a specialised course in High Dependency care. Prior to working in theatre she held a management position in day surgery and endoscopy, assisting with gastroscopies and colonoscopies. She brings her outstanding organisational and patient care skills to ARC, managing the care of all pre- and post-surgical patients, and ensuring the consulting rooms of the surgeons run smoothly.

Megan preps each patient prior to their appointment with the plastic surgeon, taking their pre- and post-surgical photography, including all Vectra 3D imaging photography. She organises necessary pathology, assists the surgeons with minor procedures, co-ordinates post-procedural care, and answers patient enquiries.

Meagan loves the challenge of keeping the day running efficiently for the surgeons and their patients. She also greatly enjoys the opportunities she has for patient interaction and ongoing care.

When not working, Meagan can be found running, bike riding or skiing, going to lunch with friends, reading, or, of course, shopping.
