Jan Griffin is a Specialist Division 1 Nurse, and Practice Manager of the Shepparton office of ARC Plastic Surgery. With a nursing background spanning 34 years in High Dependency Units and Day Surgery, Jan has extensive experience in both medical and surgical settings.

Jan has attained a Diploma of Business Management, and has trained in numerous nursing speciality areas, including orthopaedics, wound management, Occupational Health and Safety, Palliative Care and Counselling.

More recently, at ARC Plastic Surgery, Jan has focussed on Melanography. As a Registered Nurse Melanographer, Jan conducts skin cancer screening using specialised digital imaging which is then assessed by a dermatologist. She also provides counselling, information, skin care education and follow up, and refers lesions requiring treatment to a GP.

In addition to Melanography, Jan performs other nursing duties such as changing dressings, and assisting in the removal and suturing of small lesions. She is an active member of the Australian Nurses Federation, The Royal College of Nurses Victoria, and the Australian Dermatology Nurses Association, and when not working loves entertaining and cooking.
